News Flash - 9th March 2009

One month down already and we have realized just what a steep learning curve we are on.
We have had plenty of input from many helpful people and it us taking time to filter through it all but we will be manufacturing again from 1 April.
We are doing our best to answer all of your enquiries and requests but with the catalogue of bike types and engine sizes this is taking some time.
As a forward thinking company we are aware of the importance of giving customers what they want, and, whilst we are not able to produce a new design immediately we will be most interested in your thoughts as to new model types and spec so please feel free to email your ideas to us.
The existing sidecars will of course always be available, their 30years of trading are a testament to the quality and design of their products.
As new owners we are suspending sales of the new XL Mk 2 there are a few design problems to sort out so until we have rectified them and are happy with the product we are withdrawing info from the site. Any interested parties will be notified of this decision.
We are actively re-establishing our contacts with our owners club and hope that all new customers will join.

News Flash - 9th Feburary 2009

The Hedingham Sidecar product has been saved from extinction by entrepreneur Richard Jefferies. Mr Jefferies was in the process of setting up his own glass fibre moulding company when he learnt, through a  former colleague Alan Gurden of Ongar Motorcycles, that Unit Sidecars had ceased trading. After phone calls and meetings the remnants of the business were purchased and the iconic Hedingham Sidecar was saved, not the best timing in the world said Mr Jefferies but  with some reorganisation and updating  I feel this will be a successful bolt on addition to my existing company. Mr Jefferies association with the Hedingham goes back a long way as he made all the GRP bodies from 1982 until 2001 and helped with the development in body designs along the way.

Mr Jefferies intends to resume business as soon as possible assuring all existing customers and of course the new ones that they all  will have their queries ( and orders ! ) fulfilled. The  original land line number will be used ( connection should be by the end of Feb ) along with a new fax number, web and mail addresses and a mobile will also be available. The use of the original number along with Unit sidecars Workshop as the postal address and the synonymous Hedingham brand will all hopefully ensure a smooth transition and help promote future sales.
